East Side Till We Die Dinner

Monday, 29 April 2013 from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Welcome to the East End Dinner Club, a collaboration created to reveal and support the vibrant and varied dining community in Toronto’s East End.

As a collective group of restaurants, business owners and chefs we are proud to support the School Grown Project. With the proceeds raised at our dinners, we are working with Field to Table Schools to bring vegetable gardens to two local schools and employ high school students in agricultural jobs.

The East End Dinner Club is serving our neighbourhood by bringing to light our many memorable destinations and talents. We look forward to hosting other community related events in the coming months with the aim to make Toronto’s East End a first choice destination.

Highly Recommending Dr. Philip Walton – Leslieville Periodontist

A couple of weeks ago I had to have a gum graft procedure done due to receding gums. I had heard so many horror stories about this procedure that I put it off for over a year before finally sucking it up and booking the surgery. I went to Queen Street Dental Centre in Leslieville and had the surgery done by Dr. Philip Walton. I explained ahead of time that I was anxious about the procedure and he was very understanding and accommodating. It was quick and painless and what surprised me the most was how it was painless in the weeks following the procedure where I had been warned it would be the most painful. Following the procedure, Dr. Walton gave me his personal email and direct number in case I had any concerns which was really impressive! It’s nice to feel like a doctor is genuinely concerned about the healing process once their work is done. If you hear a horror story about a gum graft procedure, my guess is that they didn’t have a good periodontist. Dr. Philip Walton gets an A+++ in my books and I would highly recommend him!

Top 20 Toronto Sandwiches – Leslieville Pumps Brisket

The scent of wood smoke filling Leslieville’s kitschy gas station signals serious brisket. Hunks of lean yet tender meat are slathered in homemade sauce that hits all the right notes—sweet and smoky with a puckery finish from apple cider vinegar. The resulting mound is then piled onto a blackened bianco bun (the love child of a baguette and a Portuguese bun) with grainy dijon and a haystack of fried onions. $8. 929 Queen St. E., 416-465-1313.
